The Bloomington 2019 Youth Mural Project will feature a group of local youth, who will envision, design and paint their own community mural at the intersection of Market and Morris in downtown Bloomington, where thousands of residents will experience it each day!

The project will be led by Joel Bergner, a Bloomington-Normal native who travels the globe creating public art with communities that have experienced trauma and conflict. He co-founded and co-directs Artolution, an international non-profit organization that is partnering with the ISU Art Station to bring this innovative public art project to the community.

A group of local teaching artists will participate, and will be introduced to the Artolution methodology. On the final day, June 7th, the community, including family and friends of the participants, are invited to attend a closing ceremony in which the mural will be unveiled to the public.

AMS was honored to support these talented young artists with bottled water.
