Michelle R. Mosby-Scott is the founder and Managing Partner of the firm Allison & Mosby-Scott where she heads the firm’s Family Law practice and leads and directs the firm’s overall practice. Michelle limits her practice to the area of family law. She regularly represents clients in divorce/dissolution of marriage, child custody, child support, pension division, removal, maintenance/alimony and post decree matters. She has tried hundreds of family law matters during the course of her practice. From this Michelle has developed excellent skills both in trials and negotiations which she leverages to the benefit of the firm’s clients.
Michelle is proud that most of her clients have been referred to her by previous clients or fellow attorneys. These referrals recognize Michelle’s experience, commitment to aggressive representation and focus on achieving client goals. Michelle knows that going through a family law matter is difficult and provides each client with the personal attention they need to accomplish their goals.
A native of Illinois, Michelle R. Mosby-Scott grew up in Southern Illinois. She obtained her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Eastern Illinois University. Michelle then attended Southern Illinois University where she obtained her Juris Doctor. In law school, Michelle served as Survey Editor of the Law Journal and was selected to participate in the Moot Court program her second and third years. Immediately after graduation, Michelle relocated to Central Illinois where she began practicing law. Michelle founded the law firm of Allison & Mosby-Scott in 2000 with William Allison.
Michelle is a published author and has held leadership positions in the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. In 2016 Michelle was selected for membership in The National Advocates: Top 100 for the state of Illinois. Membership in The National Advocates: Top 100 is limited to the Top 100 Lawyers from each state or region who serve individuals and families in the legal system.
Michelle and Michael, her husband of over two decades, have three children and live in Bloomington, IL. Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends and travel.

In 2017 Michelle was selected for membership in The American Red Cross Claire Barton Society. The Clara Barton Society is a select group of philanthropic leaders who help ensure that the Red Cross will always be there to save and rebuild lives. Society members join in the humanitarian heritage that Clara Barton began when she founded the American Red Cross more than a century ago and embody her spirited approach to helping others.
