Effective January 1st, 2020, marketplace websites such as eBay and Etsy are required by the Illinois Department of Revenue to collect taxes on purchases shipped to the state of Illinois, even if the seller of the item has no connection to Illinois besides for selling an item through a marketplace website to a buyer located in Illinois.
